How lots ship
Every lot on the yard sells EXW(ex works): the price is for the goods at the seller's location, and the buyer arranges pickup or books freight. Each lot page states the lot's location, and where the seller has given a weight and origin zip the page shows a freight estimate from a carrier so you can price the delivered cost before you offer. Freight is paid by the buyer to the carrier, never to MarketYard, and is not part of the held payment described below.
There is no shipping charge from MarketYard and no shipping timeline we can promise: the goods ship when your carrier collects them, which is arranged between you, the seller, and the carrier after the deal settles.
Returns
Lots are surplus and liquidation inventory sold against an itemized manifest, and there is no change-of-mind return. What you are protected against is the goods not matching that manifest.
When a deal settles through the site, your payment is held by our payment processor and released to the seller only when you confirm deliveryagainst the manifest. If the goods don't match the manifest, don't confirm: open a dispute within 5 business days of delivery, and the payment stays held while we resolve it against the manifest and your delivery photos. A dispute resolves one of three ways: the held payment is released to the seller, refunded to you, or split between you.
Real-money settlement rails are still coming live; until they are, we walk each settlement through with both sides directly, under the same rules. The full terms are on the terms page.
